The source of inspiration for this piece is a track jacket from a certain sports brand, originally produced in the 1970s. Crafted from a lightweight fabric, the original garment possessed a lustrous, velour-like sheen, while its piping design evoked a distinct sense of nostalgia. Designer Keiji Kaneko felt a profound attraction to this retro quality—a style imbued with the unmistakable spirit of that era.
While evoking that vintage sporty mood, the fabric has been reimagined in a pile material, allowing the garment to be worn comfortably even during the warmer seasons. The silhouette, originally quite slim, has also been updated to a slightly roomier, more relaxed fit. The result is a piece that is both lightweight and exceptionally comfortable to wear.
The greatest challenge during the design process lay in the cord used for the piping. To ensure a finish with truly distinctive character, FOUNDOUR went so far as to custom-produce the cord in-house—a detail that stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality.
